Believed to have started to been built in 1106, the castle eventually was owned by William de Londres in 1116. William de Londres was one of the as one of the legendary Twelve Knights of Glamorgan, followers of Robert FitzHamon (who was part of the Norman Conquest that began in 1066). The castle had many owners, but in the 15th century a courthouse was built near the castle that remained in operation until 1803. Though the complex is in ruins, the castle is said to have one inhabitant: the Y Ladi Wen (The White Lady). In Celtic folklore, the Y Ladi Wen is a boogie man, and at the Ogmore Castle,she is said to be guarding hidden treasure. Charles and Andrew attempts to communicate with the mysterious entity.
