| | Nearly 18 years ago, Brian Bethel (a professional journalist) went out to do an ordinary task as to trying to pay a bill one fateful night in Abilene, Texas near a local movie theater. He still lives in the area. During that fateful night, he never expected to have the very disturbing, scary, and strange encounter that he had with what are deemed to be called Black Eyed Kids or BEK's. His encounter is probably the most documented and happened so long ago that some believe his story to be the true first story. However, there were BEK encounters before his, but they were relatively unknown until attention happened due to his extreme encounter. He felt controlled and feared for his life that night and has been affected by it and lives with that memory every single day of his life since.
